WEDDING BELLS

For some reasons, the “ember” months are always filled with weddings and events. I have been to countless weddings this season. While some were well organized, others came with a little drama.

Here are some pics of me heading out to a friend’s wedding a month ago.

I wore an orange mono strap chiffon gown designed by CLAUDS.

Well, of all the weddings I attended, am going to talk about my two favorite. First up my cousin Isaac’s wedding.This wedding was real special to me because I got to see my family and relatives I hadn’t seen in years. Whenever there is a family wedding, all my relatives from far and wide come together, it’s always a big family re-union.  The weekend was filled with laughter and funny tales with each person having their own tale to tell. I was part of the bridal train and we wore blue mono strap satin gowns. It was a really beautiful wedding.

     
 Next is my friend’s wedding. I was also part of the bridal train and we wore gold satin sleeveless shift gowns with red heels. This wedding had a little drama at the beginning and almost did not hold. It started with us arriving in church, the guests were already seated, and we awaited the signal for the walking of the bride down the aisle. Suddenly the priest came up and announced that the wedding has been cancelled !!!!.  Jaw dropping right ?  We were all shocked and bemused. As to the reason why, apparently the groom has been married before, filed for a divorce, but his wife refused.  After years of fighting for a divorce in court to no avail, he decided to remarry anyways.  But on the wedding day, with information from an unknown source, the wife called the church and ordered for the marriage not to hold, insisting that she is still married to the man. She presented her wedding certificate and other documents as proof. With this information, being a church with high moral values and standard, the church decided to cancel the wedding. Finally after much confusions and arguments, another pastor was brought to conduct the wedding on the reception ground. Despite the initial drama it turned out to be a beautiful wedding. My only disappointment was that I couldn't catch the bouquet. 

Now my question is: in your own opinion, who was wrong?

·        The man for trying to re-marry without properly ending his first marriage?
  

·         The first wife for refusing to let the man go after years of fighting for a divorce?                                                                                                                                                                                          

·        The new bride for marrying a man whose divorce settlement has not been finalized?                                                                                                                                       

·        Or the church for ending the wedding in that manner.    

INTRODUCING Z BY DESIGN

Another new fashion brand has stepped into the fashion scene. For Clients out there who are looking for designers that are creative and unique, a certain Z by design is putting the dots  together.  They debuted their work some weeks ago and I loved the way they juxtaposed different fabrics to make casuals.                                                                          .

I caught up with one of their designers and she had this to say about the label:

I have always enjoyed the act of creating clothes and working with colors and fabric, this brought about the drive to venture into fashion designing. Our style of fashion is a combination of western and a touch of traditional. Z by design is classified as being classy and chic and deals with creating formal and casual designs which will be purchased by customers.

SPORTS CHAT ROOM

There are a number of issues I’ll love to hear your opinion about. First let’s talk about transfer news. I’ll start with the shocking one.

SACKING OF DI MATTEO.

I thought what Chelsea wanted was a coach that could win them trophies, and seeing the way and manner di matteo won them two trophies last season, the last thing I expected was for him to be sacked. I honestly don’t know what owner Abramovich is looking for out there, maybe some Chelsea fans can explain it to me.

I also can’t help but wonder about torres fate? They say he is part of the reason di matteo was sacked. There are rumors that they are trying to bring in falcao to take his place. I personally think Chelsea is no match for him, maybe a Spanish club will fit better.

Still on Chelsea, I think it is laughable that they brought in Rafeal benitez as a replacement coach, for some reason I have absolutely no faith in his ability to coach and am really looking forward to him proving me wrong.

There are speculations that PSG are planning to make a £100m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo. Now I see why sir alex said buying Ronaldo was a Christmas wish. It makes makes me wonder what the biding price would be, should messi be available for sale.

SIR ALEX IMMORTALISED AT OLD TRAFFORD.

 
A bronze statue of sir alex ferguson was unveiled at old Trafford and the 70-years old paid tribute to “the boss” (his wife cathy), but for those present just one man merits the tittle.Sir alex ferguson legend was cemented on Friday when Manchester united unveiled a huge bronze statue of the manager outside the stadium, to help mark his 26 years at the club.

Who else do you think is worth a tribute?

Is Zlatan Ibrahimoviv gay?

This story is about 2 years old when Zlatan was still playing for Barcelona. He was asked by a female reporter if he was gay and it was because of this picture.

His response was “come to my house with your sister and see if am queer”.      

Player gets arrested after game for on pitch theft.  

  It was 1991 and the derby between Uruguay two biggest teams was taking place: Penarol – Nacional. The incident involves Dely Valdes and Goncalves. Valdes was Nacional’s striker and he was known for wearing Gold chains and other Jewelries on the pitch. As both players were struggling as a corner kick was about to take place, Gonzales ripped off one of valdez’s gold chains and hid it in his socks.  Nobody in the stadium saw it but the TV cameras caught the moment, and after the game Valdez and the police were waiting for Goncalves outside the dressing room. Goncalves was arrested but the charges were later dropped as he had returned the chain. When asked why he did it, his reply was “I don’t know what I was thinking”. For me I guess he was thinking of money or what do you think?

WEIRD NICKNAMES

It would interest you to know some footballers nickname and their origin.  As a very small child, he used to pretend he was a goalkeeper and would say I am Bile (name of a goalkeeper of those times) after each save. Pele came from the wrong pronunciation of Bile. He was also called Rei (king).

Some other funny nicknames I came across are:

Gerd Muller – Dicker (the fat one)

David beckam – spice boy or golden boy

Fabio capello – professore

Pete cech – big pete

Ryan gigs – welsh wizard

Alfredo Di Stefano – saeta bubia (blond arrow)

MESSI THE RECORD BREAKER

It is no news that messi has been breaking all sorts of records, with each goal creating a new record. Although he is fast running out of records to break, there are few records up for grabs like:

1.     Gerd muller’s record (record -85, messi-)

2.     Highest goal in el classicos. (record-18, messi-16)

3.     Most consecutive highest champions league scorer. (record -5consecutive years, messi record – 4 consecutive years)

4.     Consecutive golden boot award.

5.     I would personally like him to become the first player to score a hundred goals in a year or season. So people what are your expectations?

You know as great a player Cristiano Ronaldo, it is rather un-fortunate that he is also on the spotlight in the messi era. If not for messi, Ronaldo deserved to have won some personal honours.                                                                                                                                                                           To end the argument on comparison of the two greatest players living now, most people conclude on this: messi is a god, Ronaldo is human. They are both great players but you can’t compare a man to a god. And recently another god was delivered namely thaigo messi. This two weeks old baby has already signed for a football club (Argentina outfit Newell’s) where messi played at youth level. They took a quick step to signing him before Barcelona could because they believe gods begat gods. For those who haven’t seen the new god, take your peek.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT

 Hello beautiful people!!! How have you all been? It’s been a while right? Sorry my bad. Been caught up with lots of school activities but in case you dint know AM NOW A GRADUATE!!. Project and exams kept me busy for a long while, it was mad hectic, and so to ease up the stress me and my friends had a fun night out.

Putting this look together was quite easy. I wore a pink shift dress by Holt Renfrew and a black blazer by forever21 matched with black pumps by Satryani. Check out the pics I took with the same outfit sometime ago. 





 We had so much fun that one bar wasn’t enough, we had to visit another. The first bar had a live band. Their music got us so high and excited that we took over the stage and performed a number (Alicia Keys – No one) which was well applauded by the way.


 


Up next was metro bar, where we were treated to a VIP lounge. Though the table was filled with assorted drinks, I was content with my lemonade, because as some of you know, I shy away from alcohol. With loud music blasting through the speakers we danced the night away.
